Othello
By William Shakespeare, Directed by Diyan Zora
Swivel Theatre _ The Barons Court
Review by RemoteGoat
'The supporting roles were especially lively and energetic; Gemma Barrett as Bianca and Chris Paddon as Roderigo were particularly fun to watch' ... 'Bianca was also brilliantly reinvented to be a communications private so she came across as more of a modern independent feisty woman than the more usual slutty hanger-on.'
Macbeth
By William Shakespeare,Directed by Maryclare O'Neill
Hiraeth Artistic Productions _ Upstairs at the Gatehouse
Review by Remote Goat
'Gemma Barrett, Christina Lazaro and Julia Faulkner were just the witches you hope you will see when you go to Macbeth. They were both disturbing and comic, gruesome and sympathetic.'
'Barrett gave a very moving performance as a spirited Lady Macduff... Her howls of despair were brilliantly haunting.'
The Canterbury Tales
By Geoffrey Chaucer, Adapted and Directed by Tom Daplyn
Tacit Theatre _ Theatre Delicatessen
Review by British Theatre Guide
'Amy Tweed and Gemma Barrett excellently embody a Friar and a Summoner at each other's throats and making their tales out of the fact. Of a fine company, they and Bernadette Arthur all stand out, playing any number of scholars, maids and crones with clear delineation.'
Much Ado About Nothing
By William Shakespeare, Directed by Simon Bolton
Rooftop Theatre _ Verulamium Park
Review by Herts Advertiser
'Gemma Barrett's Hero is a perfect foil for Beatrice and her wedding scene where she wears a fascinator not far removed from one seen at a recent royal wedding is hilarious.'
